HypnoFertility

Pauline Taylor BSc  MNSPH
Member of the National Society of Professional Hypnotherapists
Certified HypnoBirthing® Practitioner
HypnoFertility® Therapist
Pauline has been involved with hypnotherapy for the past 9 years.  For  7 years she ran a national charity before becoming a full-time clinical hypnotherapist. She has also worked with several charitable organisations during the past 18 years.  Her personal experience of cancer has resulted in an interest in using hypnotherapy to work with cancer patients and their families.

HypnoBirthing® aims to give pregnant women and their birthing partners the tools and techniques to feel comfortable, in control and relaxed and often provides a pain-free, natural childbirth.  The therapy teaches simple but specific breathing techniques, self-hypnosis and relaxation, and is practised by only a handful of qualified clinical hypnotherapists in Scotland.

A new technique based on the principles of hypnotherapy is now available to expectant families in the Lothians, Fife and the Borders  to help ease the pain of childbirth.

Pauline Taylor (pictured above) is a well established clinical hypnotherapist and registered HypnoBirthing® practitioner.

She runs HypnoBirthing Edinburgh and is also in partnership with Neil Robinson in Edinburgh Stop Smoking. See www.edinburgh-stop-smoking.co.uk

Pauline explains: “the HypnoBirthing® method teaches the mother and her birthing partner a range of techniques to help access the body’s natural anaesthesia which replaces the stress hormones that create tension and pain".

“When accessed through hypnosis and special massage techniques these endorphins can be up to 20 times more effective that Morphine".

“HypnoBirthing® is becoming increasingly popular in areas where it is currently available and many mothers have had astonishing results".

HypnoBirthing® was developed in the United States 17 years ago by Marie Mongan and is based on many principles from the1930s English obstetrician and founder of the National Childbirth Trust, Dr Grantly Dick-Read.
